NORTH ISLAND COMPETITION. Per Press Association. Masterton, Last Night. The North Island Sheep Dog Trial Association competitions concluded to-day. Results:—Championship short head., W, Whyte's Boy 1, S. Kennedy's Boss Jr. 2, C. S. Hay's Surprise 3. Huntaway.—C. S. Hay's Tweed 1, P. L. McKenzie's Lad 2, T. Sheridan's Pike 3, F. Shekleton's Mink 4. THE TIMARU TROUBLE. Timaru, Last Night. The Union Steam Ship Company today, to work steamers in port, employed only members of the new Watersiders' Union (lately free labor), which is now registered under the Act. It is stated that the Federationists are receiying strike pay from the Federation, also that several of them will join the new union, whatever the majority may say.
