Continental butters is .firmer, and stocks this week have been •well cleared at an advance of about 2s Iper cwt. Colonial butters remain prac-! tically unchanged, choicest quality still being firmly held, whilst secondary is pressed for sale at very irregular figures. Our telegraphic advices yesterday from Copenhagen state that the market there had an improving tendency. Merchants in this country had again to pay an advance of about Is 6d on the basis price." It is generally expected that the quotation this, afternoon will be declared unchanged. Reports from Germany indicate the markets there are steady,-with, no alteration in prices. * , •„ .

French: Supplies are now somewhat larger, and it is feared that a further official reduction will have to be made very shortly. Meantime, official prices are: Extra mild 122s to 128s, Paris baskets 119s to 130s, finest 118s to 120s, good to fine 114s to 116s. COLONIAL BUTTERS.
Australian: There is practically no arrival this week, as, although the s.s. Pera, with 9700 boxes, docked a few days ago, she has not yet started to discharge her cargo. The s.s. Argyllshire, with 42,450 boxes 011 board, is not due to arrive until Friday, so that her butters will not be available until the middle of next week. In consequence of the short supplies, choicest salted and unsalted are very scarce, and prices are more or less nominal. Secondary descriptions still continue to be plentiful, and prices for this grade are very irregular, ranging from 98s up to 104s. Unsalted is obtainable at the same figures as salted. . New Zealand: The s.s. Eemuera is now discharging. There has been a fair demand, and stocks are clearing rapidly. .'Strictly choicest quality 112s to 113s, occasionally 113s being made for a favorite factory. New Zealand: The demand during the past week has been by no means brisk; !>ut, at the moment of writing, there is a slightly better feeling, and it is just possible that we may see some slight improvement in prices shortly. 1 There is a large quantity of secondary and heated goods on the market, and this has had some considerable effect in keeping prices down.v We quote choicest white at 58s, choicest colored 57s to 57s Gd, with secondary obtainable at 565.
