TIMARU SESSIONS. r i Per Press Association. Timaru, Last Night The Supreme Court was occupied mott of the day over a charge of manslaugV ' ter against O. H. Besley, over a fatal collision between hia car and a cyclist, Percy Dixon, a postal official, on April I. The prosecution alleged >,that accused was on the wrong side of the road when hfr v met the cyclist. The defence denied that assertion, and said that the cyclist was on the wrong side and that the car was swerved to the right to save acollision, and the cyclist also turning off . the colv-* lision occurred. The jury, after « long * retirement, returned a verdict that, accused was guilty of an error of judgment, but,not culpable>negligence. The •Tudge said'that meant an acquittal. The Court then began the hearing of a complicated civil case, in which a firm of builders sue a local banker for about £2OOO for erecting a block of shops for defendant and Walter Shaw, solicitor, whose affairs are now under investigation in bankruptcy. Defendant replied that the, plaintiffs had been paid all the money due to them for the work by hiß partner. Plaintiffs say that these moneyp were paid on account of buildings erected ; for Shaw only. The case will be resufhed ' to-morrow. , ;
