Colonel Seely,. in reply to a question in the House of Commons, stated that Lieutenant Stewart, who was recently released by Germany, will retain his commission in the army. The Hon. E. S. Montague, in reply to Colonel Yate, declared that the Secretary of State would not be justified in asking the Council of India for larger grants for Lieutenant Bowers' mother and sisters.
[Lieutenant Bowers was one of the two men who perished in the tent with Captain Scott and Dr. Wilson.]
