Captain Ernest (Jaunt, C.N.G., R.K., has been appointed aide-de-camp to the King. Captain Gaunt is a son of the late Judge Gaunt, of Melbourne, and has had a distinguished naval career. He was in command of H.M.S. Cambrian, of the Australian station. Mr. W. E. Jones, son of Mr. M. Jones of this town, arrived in New Plymouth last night. Mr. Jones, who for the past two years has been connected with the legal firm of Russell and Anthony, Christchurch, is re-joining Mr. _W. G. Malone's staff at Stratford, where liewill manage the departments of Commojv Law, State Advances, and Conveyancing. Mr. Jones was previously seven years with the firm of Malone, Anderson, an® Johnston.
