RIFLE SHOOTING.
NEW PLYMOUTH DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. The New Plymouth Defence Rifle Club has adopted' the ladder system, in ord'er to arouse interest among members. The ' following is the first ladder: —1 Wins-i lade, 2 Evans, 3 W. Bruce, 4 Humphries, 5 Grover, 0 Short, 7 Hartnell, 8 Olliver, 9 Nichols, 10 Marett, 11 F. J. Hill, 12 Blanchard, 13 H. E. Hill, 14 Arnoldt, 15 Goodacre, 16 Keating, 17 Riddles, 18 Beadle, 10 Jones, 20 Lobb, 21 Kurta, 22 Gibson, 23 Yeoman, 24 Treeby, 25 Messenger, 20 Bennett, 27 Phillips, 28 Banks, 29 Olcey, 30 Lye, 31 Hooker, 32 Gilmour, 33 Ellerm, 34 Ingram, 35 Seldon, 36 Wood, 37 Stocker, 38 Morey, 39 Clarke, 40 Whittle, 41 Lister, 42 Jonas, 43 Forbes, 44 Johnson, 45 G Bruce,-46' Haginson, 47 Emery, 48 B. Tippins. To-day tlje Club will fire two handicap shooting matches, prizes to be given to the four highest scores in each match. The ranges will be '3OO, 500 and 600, and 800, 900 and 1000, seven shots at each range Shooting will start at the long ranges at 9 a.m. The following are the handicaps for each match:—Winslade scr., Evans 1, Bruce 1%, Humphries iy 2 , Grover 1%, Short 4, Hartnell 4, Oliver 4, Nichols 4, Marett 5%, F. J. Hill 5%, Blanchard 5%, H. E. Hill 5%, Arnoldt 8%, Goodacre 8%, Keating 8%, Beadle 91/2, Jones 9%, Lobb 9%, Kurta 15%, Gibson 15%, Bennett 15%, Messenger 15%, remainder of club 25 each.
