Later she heard the discharge of a gun, and saw that her father had shot himself. The coroner returned a verdict that death was caused by a gunshot woiyid, self-inflicted. FALL DOWN SHIP'S HOLD. Invercargill, Last Night. Two watersideis, A. F. Darwell and G. Browning, fell down the hold of the steamer Surrev on Saturday, and wero admitted to the hospital. Darwell was badly bruised, and Browning's ankle was injured, but neither was seriously hurt. *
