The same afternoon the lady members of the Fire Brigade Ball committee were requested by Mrs. Dockrill (president) to be present at an afternoon tea at May and Arrowsmitli's tearooms. A presentation was made to Miss Clarke, who has "been an ardent worker for many years on the dance committee, and whose marriage takes place on June 6. Mrs. Dockjrill, on behalf of the ladies' committee, presented Miss Clarke with a silver teapot and cake dish, while Mr. F. Bellringer .(captain of the Fire Brigade) presented ier with. a carved oak and silver salad bowl. Amongst those present were: Airs. Dockrill, who was attired in a black cloth -costume, cream lace vest, black seal coat and black feathered hat; Mrs. Browne (Mayoress), navy blue costume, grey feathered toque; Miss Clarke, vieux rose striped tweed costume, black hat, with magenta and black wings, white and black fur stole and muff; and Mesdames J. Clarke, Sadler, Hard wick, Bellringer; 0. Moon, White, E. M, Smith, R. Jury, Bach, Sullivan, Coleman, J. Richards, H. J. Okey, F. Richards, Day, Prior, F. E. Clarke and Misses Browne and Bedford. PERSONAL ITEMS. j Misa S. Capel and Mrs. R. Outfield hate returned from their "trip to Wellington. Miss Cook, who has been the guest of Mrs. Crooke, has returned to Marton. Miss E. Atkinson (Hamilton) is visiting her aunt, Mrs. McAllum, Omata. Miss Spain, who has been the guest of Mrs. Corfe, has returned to Feilding. Mr. .and Mrs. Jack Morton leave on Tuesday for Napier, after having spent several weeks in New Plymouth. _ r Mr. and Mrs. W. Murray, Govev' street, leave to-night for their future home in Auckland. Mrs. H. Stocker, leaves on Tuesday for a fortnight's trip to Wellington.
