"'SEVERE JUDICIAL REMARKS. , By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Friday. A scathing rebuke was administered by Mr. Justice Edwards, in the Supreme Court, in giving judgment in the divorce suit in which Robertson Henderson petitioned for a decree against Emily Jeanie Henderson on the ground of misconduct, Thomas George de Rcnzi being named as co-respondent. The Judge quoted from a letter written by petitioner to respondent, in which he stated he was financially embarassed, and remarked that the epistle was practically a written license for the woman to misconduct herself with co-respondent for petitioner's own financial ends. A decree was refused Without costs. ' IXVERCARG'ILL SESSIONS. Invercargill, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, before Sir Joshua Williams, James Chambers was found guilty of assault and causing bodily harm, the jury adding a recommendation to mercy, as malice had not been shown. The accused was admitted to probation for twelve months, on condition that he abstained from intoxicants, and was ordered to pay £23 towards the cost of the prosecution. Boyd Dixon, charged with uttering counterfeit coins at Nightcaps, was found not guilty. HEAVY DIVOKCE LIST. Christchurch, Last Night. in divorce, a decree nisi, with the custody of the children and costs on the lowest scale was granted in McKcnzie v. Mehemsie (the wife's petition) . Decrees nisi were granted in Morland v. Morland (the wife's petition), Bigwood v. Ligwood (the husband's petition), Atourt v.. A'Court (the wife's petition), Saner v. Saner (the wife's petition).
