THE BALKAN WAR

' BULGARIA AND SERVIA A BITTER FEELING. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright Vienna, May 20. A bitter feeling continues between Sofia and Belgrade. Bulgarian papers declare that the Balkan League belongs to the past. The Cheernaposta severely attacks Servia, and says that the alleged alliance with Servia -was criminally forced on Bulgaria from abroad, against her national aims. DIVISION OF. THE SPOILS. London, May 20. The intrigues of the allies are seriously retarding the holding-of the Peace Conference. Bulgaria iind Turkey afe ready to sign the basis of peace. M. Daneff, the leading peace delegate for Bulgaria, suggests that hostilities should be stopped by the Powers. They are, lie says, under a moral obligation to see that peace is signed without delay. He recommends that the suggested amendments of the proposals by Servia and Greece be considered after the formal signature of the treaty of peace. A statement has been circulated showing that the conquered territory amounts to 169,000 kilometres. Bulgaria proposes to take 87,000 kilometres, Servia 26,000, Montenegro 7000, Greece 11,000, Turkey retaining ,12,000 an 4 Albania 26,000. Servia and .Greece' propose that Bulgaria should take •61,000, Servia 36,000, Montenegro 7000, and Greece 27,000. ' THE PEACE NEGOTIATIONS. TECHNICAL' DIFFICULTIES.

.Received 21, 11.20 p.m. • London, May 21. The Ambassadors' Conference discussed the Austro-Italian scheme for Albania. The conference was unanimous ithat the Allies should sign the peace declaration forthwith, emphasising that if he signing of peace with Turkey would not affect their right to discuss with the Porte the questions left with them for ■decision. The Allies have conferred and drafted modifications intended to make clear the Allies' right to discuss the Albanian and Aegeain Islands question. "M. Daneff did not object to the modifications, but regarded .them as unnecessary. He said that he was prepared to •wait for a day or' two " pending their submission to the Powers, but Bulgaria •was prepared to sign the Treaty as it ntands. He explained that Bulgaria desired immediate peace. The country was involved in heavy' expense in keeping her army in the field. The Servian reservations were chiefly connected with the guarantees giving Servia an Adriatic port. More efficient assurances were'necessary, in view of the unsettled condition of Albania.

It is understood that Sir E. Grey has assured Servia that-the Ambassadors' decision binding other guarantees is not needed. ' The Powers have decided that the Allies only shall have a consultative voice on the technical commission which •will meet in iParis to settle the financial problems arising from the war. Further hindrance to the signuig of peace is likely to arise from/this point.
