EIGHT THOUSAND HOMELESS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Vienna, May 18. Owing to a fire at Pressburg eight thousand people are homeless. A fireman *nd a child perished, and many were injured. PANIC-STRIKEN JEWS. Received 20, 12.15 a.m. Vienna, May 20. A hundred buildings, including several historical ones, were destroyed at Pressburg, which involved a great part of the old Jewish quarter. Panic stricken Jews refused to break the Sabbath to extinguish the fire until the Rabbi granted a dispensation. Three hundred f were injured.
