WOMEN'S WORLD

NEW PLYMOUTH. Bridge.—Another party was held for Miss Skiniier (Blenheim), last Tuesday evening, and given by Miss G. Shaw, which took the form of bridge, and. resuited in Miss Skinner winnino- the lady's prize and Air. Bloxham the gentleman's prize. A very dainty supper was served, the table decorations being greatly admired, they being pink autumn leaves with candlesticks shaded in the same tone of silk. Amongst those present were: Miss G. Shaw, Miss Skinner, Sirs. Fookes, Miss Blundell, Miss l'erriev, Miss Wade, Miss S. Thomson, Miss Matthews, Misses Fookes (2), Miss D. Bedford. A Dance.—Last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Webster gave a most enjoyable dance in the Brougham Street Hail, to celebrate the coming of age of their youngest daughter, Miss Winifred Webster. The hall was beautifully decorated in eastern splendour, and the supper was most recherche, the table literally groaning laden with all the good things of the season. The music was rendered by Mrs. Wood's . orchestra. The guests were received at ithe bottom of the hall by the host and hostess, the latter being robed in a rich black silk, prettily trimmed with lace. Miss Winifred Webster wore a charming .frock of white crepe de chine, inset with bauds of pale blue satin. Amongst those present were.—Mrs. F, Robertson, Mrs. ,T. Morton (Napier), Miss Baker, Mrs. Home, Mrs. Les. Nolan, Mrs F. Fookes, Mrs. F. Watson, Mrs. H. Baily, Misses Wheatley, Saxton, Armstrong, Carrington (Melbourne) D. Baily (debutante). Blundell, Wade, C. Baylv, Wiulield, (debutante), Y. Ivirby, Arden, Pennic, Bedford, Dempsev. Simpson (2), Skinner (Blenheim), G. Shaw, Fookes (2), Thomson (2), Greatbaek, liempton, Whitson N. Capel H. Lepper (debutante), MeAllum (2), R. Clarke, Horrocks (Auckland). Matthews, K. Mills, Sturtivant, Waller, Watson, G. Skinner, Brewster. PERSONAL. Mrs. G. Kebbell, who has been on a visit to Australia, returned to New Ply-mouth-last week. Miss Barry. Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. Hill, New Plymouth. Miss Q. Carrington, of Melbourne, is ■the guest of her aunt, Airs. Brewster. Mr. and Airs.' 0. Samuel leave early next week, for Wellington. Miss S. Capel and Mrs. R. Cutfield. New Plymouth, are holiday-making in Wellington. Mrs. P. Mitchell, Remuera, is the guest of lior sister. Mrs. C. Kebbell, for a few days. Mrs. J. Harvey, who has been visiting her relatives in Christchureh. returned tn New Plymouth last Friday, accompanied by her sister-in-law, Miss Harvey.
