SWIMMING.

A proposal that a team of swimmers should be sent to Australia next season was put forward some time ago by the Canterbury Swimming Centre of tho New Zealand Swimming Association. The idea is that the team should he chosen from the various centres, in the proportion of, say, two from Auckland, and two from Dunedin, and one each from the smaller centres. Each centre would contribute to the finances, probably receiving a full or partial return 'from the "gates" collected at the various attractions in Australia. The proposal is to be considered by the Wellington Centre this week.
