At the inquest on Police-Sergeant Hic'key. who was shot while serving a wawajnt ,on an orchardist named Brown, the evidence of the police was to the effect ttiat Brown shot the sergeant without pnw.ocation, and that, but for Brown's son jumping and receiving the charge, tie have shot Constable Barclay. The evidence of Brown's sons was that Mickey seized Brown, and 'n the fierce struggle which ensued their father fired f« self-defence.
