ACQUIREMENT OF ESTATES. By Telegraph— Press Association., Wellington, Last Night. The Government has acquired Knowsly Park estate of 4933 acres, situated seven miles from Mataura. This will be cut up into moderate sized mixed farms. The Government has also completed the purchase of Waiarikiki estate of 4133 acres, eight miles from Mataura and Pukerau railway station, suitable for subdivision into moderate sized farms. Dairying can be profitably carried on over a considerable portion of the area.
