TOWN BOARD. (From Our Own Correspondent). The ordinary monthly meeting of the above was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs Dudley (chairman), Todd, Trotter and Ross. Correspondence was dealt with as under:—From the Department of Internal Affairs, authorising the Board to spend up to £5 in cleaning up the i old military cemetery.—The staff to at- | tend to the matter. From the proprietor of Gibbs' Hotel, in reply to j Board's communication, stating that in j order to improve the drainage at the hotel it would be necessary to lay an agricultural or subsoil chain across Domett street and for a few chains down Havelock street.—Resolved that the Board offer no objection, but the work to be done to the Board's satisfaction. Mr. Kitchingman was appointed the Board's representative on the National Park Board. All owners of boxthorn hedges overhanging the footpaths in the township are to be notified to cut the same. The foreman reported on the various ■works completed and in progress during the month.—The report was adopted. Mr. Ross gave notice of motion that he move at next meeting that the Minister of Internal Affairs be asked to vest the Town Board with authority to incorporate the Opunake Cemetery Trustee Board. Accounts amounting to £G2 Gs Id were passed for payment and the Board rose. DOMAIN BOARD. The same members then sat as a Domain Board. The gardener was asked to furnish ■quarterly reports as to suggestions for improving the grounds, work done and work required. Notice was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs re donation in 1910 s to Seaside Society.
