ROUND-THE- WORLD. CIRCUIT. Auckland,. May 12. A well-known ijtume- in. theatrical circles is that of Mr. Hugh D. Mcintosh, proprietor of various theatres in Australia, who is. o» his, waiy 1 to America. He informed; & reporter that he was anxious to form a roAtnd-the-world circuit. Already lte bad concluded arrangements with) the leading vaudeville people in South Africa, If he is successful in making a similar contract with one of the lea drag American circuits, the result will be- of the greatest benefit to Australasia., At present English artists are often; prevented from coming to. these parts because even a threejponthft'. engagement entails .three, months' loss of time journeying to, and from London. .A'<oiflplete cirtotit,; including America, New Zealand,' Australia, and South Africa, the position, will be eiitrely changed, and Mr. Mcintosh says that it is going to quite revolutionise the vaudeville business so far as Australasia is concerned. Asked had he any definite theatrical programme in view regarding New Zealand, Mr. Mcintosh replied that lie hoped ultimately to operate very extensively in this Dominion, but just at present he would be content to send across high-class specialty artists whenever dates could be secured at the theatres for a New Zealand season. Mr. Mcintosh expects to be abroad for fivo months.
