'' London, May 1L The suffragettes broke into an unoccupied house at Newcastle, but were discovered and decamped, leaving a pail of inflammable material, two tins of petrol, and fire-lightera. A large empty ivouse at Beckenhani has been burned. The total damage Inflicted by the suffragettes during the week is estimated at £50,000. WOMEN SPEAKERS ILP-USED. London, May 11. During suffragist disturbances at Hyde Park, one of tlie speakers, Mrs. Lorry, was knocked over and other women were rourhly handled. The police rescued them. A CLEVER SCHEME. ANOTHER BOMB OUTRAGE. Received 12, 10.35 p.m. London, May 12. The Moil's League, in support of women's suffrage, attempted to hold a meeting at Hyde Park. Some of the crowd used mirrors to deflect the sun in the speakers' faces, compelling them to stop. .■?*•■ A bomb containing twenty-four gunpowder cartridges and a fuse, with oil soaked in wadding, was found during a performance at the Empire Theatre. In Dublin three women were arrested for breaking the fanlight of the United Irish League. j
