A London cablegram states that the Duchess of Connaught spent a fair night, and shows a slight improvement. Mr. W. G. Wickham, British Trade Commissioner for New Zealand, will pay a short visit to London at the end of the year. Mr. A. H. Avery, a son of Mr. Thomas Avery, has just returned to New Plymouth after a sojourn of several years in England and America. On enquiry at the Hospital late last night we learned that there is a slight improvement in the condition of Mr. Harold Street, who was injured whileout with the Hunt on Thursday.
