The Ambassadors' Conference remitted the .Austro-Italian-Albanian project for consideration of the Powers. The scheme provides for a national gendarmerie, officered by u minor European Power, Austria and Italy to provide a loan on behalf of the new realm. The conference is not lifeely to resume until after the Whitsuntide holidays.
v , THE PEACE TREATY. < ESSAD PASHA'S DENIAL. FURTHER FIGHTING REPORTED. 9, 11.50 p.m. London, May 9. The Powers and Turkey have assented to the draft of the peace treaty, hut the Allies 'have ■ not yet replied. Essad Pasha telegraphed to Email Kemal, denying that he had proclaimed him- ' self King or negotiated with King Nicholas regarding the throne. Famine alone compelled the surrender of Salonika. It is reported that there has heen further fighting between the Greeks and Bulgarians near Drama. Constantinople, May 9. The Porte has ordered the repatriation of the Turkish troops in Albania.
