AVENUE ROAD CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Avenue Road Card Club the annual report and ' [balance-sheet, a precis of which appeared in yesterday's "News," was read and adopted. Ten new members' Were elected, and it was decided that the subscription would remain at 2s 6d. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows:—President, Mr. E. Sole (re-elected); vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. Cliff, F..,Rjchards, T. Avery, W. J. Penn, E. Elliott, E. Dock- 1 rill, R. W. D. Robertson, T. H. Robin- j tson and Dr. E. A. Walker (all reelected), Messrs. A. Clarke, R. Johnson ' and Newton King; ion. secretary, Mr. A. Richards (re-elected); hon. auditor, ( Mr. E. Sole (re-elected). r \ A meeting of the club will be held on ; Friday week, May 16, when the captain, vice-captain and selection committees will be appointed. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. and Mrs. Richard? 'or allowing the iclub the use of their room.
