| SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Summary.—Southerly winds have predominated with changeable and showery weather, especially in the northern and southernmost district, but an improvement lias taken place on the East Coast. Conditions are very unsettled, and the present position is most unusual, with a low barometer in the south and below normal everywhere. Forecast. —Present indications are for variable and strong westerly winds, with a southerly tendency. A further fall in the baro- : meter is probable for a westerly low pressure area, Hue\ to pass in the 'south in about 36 hours. Cold, unsettled and showery weather may be expected in all parts of the country.
