LOSS OF THE QUEEN- MARGARET. London, May G. The lifeboat rescued the wifo and child of the captain of the Queen Margaret, which was wrecked at the Lizard. The crew landed in the vessel's boat., AN EXPLAINED DISAPPEARANCE. London, May 6. The courts have again been asked to presume the, death of Lidderdjale, the hanker. The judge stated that he now recognised the existence of Miss Vining and her yacht. The case was adjourned. Mr. Lidderdale, a bank manager, was about to be married, but suddenly disappeared, and it was alleged that lie had died on board the yacht of an old friend, named Miss Vining. The evidence of this was not conclusive, and hitherto the court has refused to permit his death to be assumed. A FRONTIER FRAY. Delhi, May 6. A party of Chayni outlaws attacked a detachment of the 72nd Punjaub ■ Regiment under Colonel Rainey and killed three iSikhs. The enemy lost Rusa Khan, a notorious outlaw. SCIENTIFIC FARMING WANTED. London, May 0. Lord Milncr, speaking at the Fanners' Club in London, said there existed an immense need for State encouragement of scientific agricultural education. The increase of small holders was essential to the country's welfare. LEVER BROS.' CAPITAL INCREASED. London, May 6. Lever Bros, are issuing 1,000,000 6 per cent £1 culminative preference shares at a shilling premium. AN ASSASSIN'S SUICIDE. Athens, May 0. Schinas, the assassin of the King of Greece, committed suicide by jumping through a window. £II,OOO IN THE PLATE. London, May 0. , A collection taken at a meeting at the Albert Hall wiped out the Wesleyan Missionary Society's deficit of £II,OOO. DIVORCE CASE REPORTS. London, May 0. In connection with the House of Lords decision that divorce cases may not he heard in camera, the case arose through a lower court ruling that the principal in a military suit was guilty of contempt in publishing transcripts of an action heard in camera. The House of Lords reversed the ruling. Lord Haldane remarked that every court of justice must sit with open doors.
