■ TARANAKI CIRCULAR ROAD RACE A meeting of the above committee wai held in the Council Chambers last even ing, when there were present: Messrs W. Dineen (in the chair), W. Jonas, G Tabor, E. Jones, O. George, B. Vinsen R. Nippert, L. Nippert, R. Renner, A George, G. Malam, H. Brooks, M. Julian C. Sadler, J. Elliott and B. Green. It was decided that all those present together with the members of last year be elected to the Entertainment Com mittee, with power to add to their num ber, and Messrs. Lonergan, Montgomery Morshead and L. E. Hoffmann wer elected as new members. Mr. W. Dineei was elected chairman, and Messrs. C Davy and A. George honorary secretary and treasurer respectively for the en suing year. It was resolved by th committee to proceed with euchre par ties and picture entertainments, as car ried out last year in aid of the fund: Messrs. Tabor, Brooks and Davy wer authorised to organise the first euchr party, to be held in the Brougham Stree Hall at a later date, arid Mrs. George' orchestra was engaged for the seasoi: The ladies' first prize -for this euchr party will be a half-ton of coal, donate by a local merchant. The ladies' secon prize and prizes for the gentlemen's clas have also been donated by local busines people. Votes of thanks were accorde to the donors of the prizes for thei kindly actions.
