Lord Dennian, the heads of the Defence Department and the public generally, are eluogistic as to the excellent spirit and soldierly bearing of the endets. The only drawback was the difficulty of keeping the crowds in check. Their enthusiasm caused frequent invasions of the line of march. The Herald enumerates amongst the good effects of compulsory training the breaking up of the larrikin pushes which used to be one of the standing reproaches of the city. THE NATAL CADETS.
