LINCOLN ROAD. (From Our Own Correspondents). Another householders' meeting is past and the new committee are straightway endeavoring to organise a social, to be held in the near future. The capitation grant for the year was £2l, and the total expenditure £2l odd. The total receipts were £27, leaving £6 for the incoming committee to start with, and with the prospects of a successful social or two, they expect to do some very necessary work .to the school grounds, which are five acres in extent. There are hedges to be trimmed, fences to he repaired, weeds to eradicate, and other incidental work to be done. There is some talk of closing down the creamery for the winter very shortly, as the milk supply has fallen away to a non-paying quantity. The whole of the suppliers of the Moa Dairy Co. will in nil probability he only going every other day after Sunday, which will be an acceptable change from the continual monotony. Foreman Knofflock has most of the roads in splendid order. OAONUI. The annual meeting of the Oaonui School Committee was held recently. A good number of householders were present. The following committee was elected:—Messrs James Young (chairman), R. Mac Fie, S. Sefton, J. Fleming, J. C. O'Rorke, J. Fleming and Coombs. The Oaonui citizens do not intend to let Mr. Cook go Home without giving him a send off. They have settled on next Wednesday night for the occasion, and from what ' can hear nobody is leaving a stone unturned to make it one of the most joyful nights yet spent in Oaonui. First-class orchestral music has been engaged, and a good many outsiders have promised to contribute items.
