NEWTON KIXC'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, 25th nit., at my Waiwakailio yards, there whs a good entry and attendance. The demand was slack, sales being made as follows:—.Mixed weaners £1 Its to £.l 17m. good colored heifers £2 Ills to £3 2s. in-calf 20months heifers £4 to £4 lid, in-calf 20-months Jersey heifers £5 1.-., bulls £1 15s (Id to £5 10s, fat cows (in demand) £0 Os. fid, springing heifers £5 17s fid, dairy cows £5 Pis (id to £li 15s, store cows £1 8s to £2 18s Gd, aged working hulls £7 14s per pair, cull lambs 5s lid, 2-tooth ewes 14s Bd. At Douglas on Monday, 28th ult,, I offered a full yarding of 5500 sheep and 370 cattle to a big attendance of the public. Bidding for most cattle was good, but sheep were slack, the majority of the entry being passed at the hammer, although I sold a lot of pens privately. On Tuesday, 29th ult., for my Stratford bullock fair and cattle sale I hr.d a very big yarding of over *2500 head. A big number of 3 to 4-year bullocks ware | yarded, the entry of this class of cattlo being, in the opinion of some of the southern buyers, the best seen in Taran&ki 'for many years. There was an entry of 5975 fat lambs, a3 against 7948 last week. There was keen competition for export, and prices for Iprime lambs were firmer, sales being ma<je up to 6d per lb for medium weights and up to 5%d for tegs. The range of prises was: Tegs 19s to 235, ordinary freezers 16s to 18s 6d, light and unfinished (some of which were taken by graziers) 13s to las fld. Fat sheep—For prime- .wether ewes the range of prices was: Prime wethers 20s to 25s Cd, lighter 15s 7d to-19a fid, merino wethers 20s, prime ewes 17s to 23s 6d, medium 14s 6d to 16s €d, aged and light lis to 14s, merino ewes 9s to lis.. -

Fat cattle—Steers £6 to £ll, extra to £ls 12s 6d, heifers £7 to £8 15s, eows £6 5s to £lO 2s (id. Store cattle—Only a small number of store cattle were yarded. Yearlings realised 335, fifteen to eighteen-months sorts £2 17s 6d to £3 ss, two-year heifers £4 ss, three-year steers £6 to £7 2s, three-year heifers £5 15s, four and five-year steers £8 to £8 Bs, cows £1 10s to £3 10s. Dairy cows made £4 10s to £ll 15s 4d. There was a large entry of fat pigs. Choppers realised £2 10s to £4, heavy baconcrs £3 to £3 15s '(equal to 4d to 4%d per lb). Lighter sorts made £2 7s <>d to £2 15s (equivalent to 5d to &y 4 d per lb). Heavy porkers brought 40s to 445, lighter sorts 32s to 375, this price being equal to Styjd to s'/ 2 d per lb. Large stores made 36s to 425, medium 25s to 355, small l<3s to 245. Weaners brought 12s for small sorts to l*fes for good pigs.

BURNSIDE. At Burnside 135 fat cattle were yarded. Prime bullocks made £l2 to £l4 10s, medium £lO to £ll ss, light £8 to £9 ss, best heifers and cows £9 to £ll 12s <sd, medium £7 to £B, light and inferior £4 10s to £6. Fat sheep—Extra heavy wethers 26s to 28s 9d, good 22s to 245, medium 18s 6d to 21s, light 14s 6d to 17s, extra

heavy ewes 22s to 24s 9d, good 17s to 20s, medium 13s to 15s, light 8s fid to lis. .Pigp—The yarding was exceptionally kmall, there being only 42 stores and small sorts, and 24. fat-pigs.' The latter inet with very keen competition on account of the small entry, and all sold at Tiigh iprices. Stores, slips and suckers Were in fair demand and realised fully last week's rates. . ' ■: .
