FORECAST AND SUMMARY. By Telegraph—Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Summary.—Southerly winds, strong to * gale, have prevailed, with stormy weather generally and heavy rain in parts. The seas have been heavy on the East Coast between Castle Point and Oamaru. A cyclonic area centred about the East Cape still dominates the weather conditions, and the barometer has made little movement. Forecast. —Present indications ar j for southerly winds, strong to a gale, with cold and damp weather. Heavy rain is probable in many parts ot the country, with sleet and snow on the higher levels and in the South. The farometet i* due to rise everywhere.
