MR FRASER IN THE SOUTH . Per Press Association. Westpoi't, Last Night. Mr. Fraser. Minister of Mines, was entertained at luncheon bv the citizens today. He visited Seddonville ill tin' afternoon, where he received various denutations, one in regard to boring near the old Cardiff Company's property with a view to lengthening the life of the Seddonville State mine. The Minister nromised to have this done immediately. This evening he received a large number of deputations on local matters. His reply to the Chamber of Commerce, which askpd that the constiuction of the Westport-Inangahua railway should be expedited, was not encouraging, the Minister holding out little hope of a sum of being placed on the Estimates this year, pxcent to cover contracts already in hand. Mr. Fraser will leave in the morning for Nelson, en route to Wellington.
