Received 29, 10.50 p.m. Sydney, April 29. i- A fire did £SOOO damage to materials s and premises at the Buttonhole and Fancy Costume Company's works and other tenants. e A fire gutted St. Mary's Roman Cathoi- lie Church at Grafton, practically all the valuable contents being destroyed. The insurance was £SOO, and the damage is estimated at £3OOO. It is considered that bats, which visit the church in flocks, may have upset a brazier containing the sanctuary light. . Adelaide, April 28. The National Incandescent Mantle Company's premises were gutted by fire. The loss is £IOOO. The brigade pre- • vented the fire spreading to the Empire: Theatre adjoining. I
