CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
GENERAL LABORERS' DISPUTE.

Wellington, -Monday. The general laborers' dispute, between the Union and the employers (including local bodies) again came before the Conciliation Council to-day. In the course of a- lengthy discussion, the Union secretary, Mr. Reardon, stated that an agreement had been arrived at-with the Wellington City Corporation, and it only remained for it to be endorsed by the Union.
Mr. Ferguson (Wellington Gas Company) sought to obtain'details of the arrangement, but Mr. Rea-rdou was not inclined to disclose it.
The employers' representatives raised the point that their interests might be prejudicially affected by any agreement entered into privately, aiid of which they had no cognistanee.
After consultation in committee, Mr. Hally, Commissioner, announced that the. general feeling was that local bodies should not be struck out of the list of parties concerned. The Council then 'went into committee to discuss the points at issue.
