EXPORTS FROM WAITARA. j The Tongariro, which left the Waitara roadstead on Friday, took the fol- ' lowing cargo for London:—273o quarters beef, 0535 carcases mutton, 90 carcases pork, 375 bales wool, 144 casks tallow, 82 casks pelts, 135 casks oleo, "i bales rubber, 1 package rubber, 2 cases fiddle strings. GROWTH OF UNION FLEET. Just ten years ago (says an exchange) it was regarded as something of an event that the total tonnage of the union Company's fleet had reached 100,000 tons. ! With the addition of the steamer Gilford, ! recently purchased,' the aggregate for rthe red funnel steamers was brought up to the 200,000 tons mark. Including this ' Gilford, the Union Company has now 71 ! steamers, with- a total of 202,043 tons I gross register. The largest steamer I (the Niagara); is 13,500 tons gross regis- ) ter, and the smallest (the Wainui) 084 [tons gross register.
