MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
A meeting of the Social Democratic Federation was held last night at which' there was a very fair attendance. Ballots were taken as to the candidates to he supported at the polls on Wednesday, resulting as follows:—For the Mayoralty, Mr. J. S. S. Medley; for the Hospital Board, Mrs. Dockrill, Messrs. Bellringer and Gilmour; for the Council, Messrs. Buttimore, Clarke, Collis. Hartnell, Healy. Jackson, Kibby, Mannix, Mn under, Tabor and Wilson. It was .decided..to commence a campaign to explain the principle of rating on unimproved land values, to remove the. many misapprehensions that exist on the subject, and to circulate the requisitions demanding a poll on the question*.
