Constance, his father-in-law, by contending that there had been a. marriage settlement. Lord Alfred 'Douglas promised not to repeat the offence. COLLAPSE OF A CRANE. London, April 24. A crane collapsed 120 feet high at High Holborn, killing a signalman and injuring several persons. A panic occurred in the street, people believing that the staging was collapsing. A FREE PARDON. London, April 24. The King has granted Driver Knox, of the North-Eastern Railway Company, a free pardon, FINANCE IN FRANCE. Paris, April 24. M. Almond, Reporter-General, in the Budget, estimates the expenditure in 1913 at £200,000,000, making a deficit of £8,000,000. The deficit in 1914 is estimated at £14,000,000. •
