THE TARIFF BILL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. lierlin, April 24. The Ambassador at Washington has been instructed to protest against the proposal in the Tarifi" Bill to examine the books of German exporting houses in order to guard against umler-valua-tion. He will also protest against the differential treatment of German goods carried in American vessels, which is declared to he a violation of the treaties guaranteeing equality of treatment.
