A northerly gale is also reported at Cape :' Maria van Dieman, but elsewhere the winds' have been variable, with easterly f fcreezes predominating. The barometer is now falling steadily. Forecast: Present indications are for increasing northjerry and easterly winds, cloudy and un- - 5' settled weather, with rain following generally.
