Chia, a dismissed employee of the Chinese Consulate, who shot at and wounded the Consul on March 21, pleaded not guilty of wounding with intent to murder, but guilty of wounding with intent to do grievous harm. The prosecution accepted the plea, and the prisoner was remanded. A PRISONER RELEASED. Sydney, April 23. Hatton, who was sentenced in October, 1911, to three years' imprisonment for having attempted to derail a train in • connection with the Lithgow strike riots, has been released.
