Parliament has opened. The Governor's Speech indicates that the revenue is buoyant. It mentioned that the report of the Royal 'Commission that enquired into the North Mount Lvell mine disaster completely exonerated the Mines Department and the company from the charge of criminal neglect. Ex-Premier Evans was elected Speaker, and Mr. Best Chairman of Committees.
