A very interesting and varied programme was screened at the Theatre Royal last night, on the bi-wecklv change of programme. The dramas were all of the highest standard, and a number of the picture favourites—including "the greatest favourite of all." Maurice Costcilo—taking their parts in the photo plays. "Work of His J lands" is an appealing story of absorbing interest, it deals with the love story of a sculptor and his wife Marco. The sculptor falls in love with his model, and marries her. A fire biv.iks out and Marco saves his wife, but loses his own eyesight. He then centres his love on his wife and his last work. A strolling player serenades his wife, and thinking her to be unfaithful, Marco in his blind rage destroys his last beautiful piece of sculpture. His wife comes upon the scene and learning the cause of the havoc wrought, soon proves her innocence. A "Romance of the U.S. Navy" was a very thrilling drama, containing a number of remarkable pictures of the American Navy. The huge fighting machines made a most effective background to the drama. The Edison "Company was again to the fore with a powerfully portraved dramatic story, entitled "The Fog.'' "War Arrow" is a film of the very popular Western type in which Indians predominate. The comic films were all of first-class variety, the chief Vitagrapli favourites taking* part. '■. Mammoth Life Savers" is a very laughable comedy depicting Kate Price. Flora Finch,'with the Vitagrapli elephants on Coney Island beach, the great American pleasure resort. A film containing much gorgeous colouring is "Oil the Way to Montserrat," and this was received with great applause. Normandy butter was also very interesting.
