Picron, the Mayor of Gentilly, who was reputed to be a wealthy man, has ', been sentenced to fifteen years' imprisonment for attempting to murder Madame Chabruk, the widow of a banker, and her sister. Picron had borrowed money from the banker before his death. THE VICTORIA HARVEST. Melbourne, April 21. The official returns for the oat harvest are 8,393,039 bushels, an average of 18.95 bushels per acre, compared with 4,585,326 bushels and an average of 15.17 bushels per acre in the previous Season.
