PROPOSED UNIFICATION. By ('aWe—Press Association—Copyright. Received 21, 9.10 p.m. Sydney, April 21. An Inter-State Conference of Railway Engineers recommends the unification o.* the trunk lines on a 4ft. S'/ain. gauge. The estimate co>t was £13,300,000. It was considered that the unification of the whole of the lines essential would cost £37,000,000, but a smaller scheme v/ould suffice at present.
