Received 12, 12.45 a.m. Sydney, April 20. Mr. Griffith, dealing with the Public

Works loan, said tlmt Hie taxpayers paid nothing towards interest on borrowed money, and made a large prolit. "The more we borrow the better position we are in," he said, "because the increase is a net profit." In reply to a question as to whether the financial position was not really good, Mr. Griffiths said: "I wish it was a trading concern and I owned it."
