THE ELECTION" CAMPAIGN.

The Federal and State election campaigns arc in full swing, and are being conducted witli great vigor. The Federal Government's referenda proposals are meeting with strong opposition. The electoral rolls are badly muddled, and there is little apparent chance of making tliem accurate or complete for the election. There is a great rush to enrol, and already over fifty thousand applications have been received.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL ABOLITION.
Perth, April 18.
Mr. Angwin, honorary Minister, declared that one of the first measures of the coming session would' be a Bill to abolish the Legislative Council.
