WORKS FOR PALMKRSTON. Per Press Association. Palmcrston North, Last Night.A meeting was held here on Saturday in connection with the proposal to establish freezing works here. A meeting on the question was held at Eeilding on Friday. The meeting was a large and enthusiastic one. The present Longburn works are apparently unable to deal with all the stock available. Three proposals were considered, viz. To establish new works at Foxton Heads, an offer to purchase Longburn, or an offer to purchase and enlarge the Palmcrston abattoirs. It was said that ample capital would be forthcoming. A strong committee was/ set up to report on each proposal in a fortnight. I ==__
