(Stratford) branch), report as follows: On Wednesday, 2nd inst., we held our usual monthly sale in our Te ,Wera yards, when there was a small yarding of 670 sheep and 111 head of cattle. Prices were as follows:—Lambs 8s to Ss (id, f.m. ewes, poor, 3s 6d to ss, fair quality stuff up to 8s 3d, 4 and 6-tooth; 'ewes 14s, 6-tooth wethers 15s, rams, poor quality, 12s Od, fair quality up to l ] / 2 guineas. Weaner steers, fair quality 355, Jersey and Holstein weaners up to 50s, l*mo'n'ths' steers, poor ,quality, 1595, I empty 18-months' heifers 645. | On Tuesday, Bth inst, we held our Hisual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when there was a medium yarding of 458 head of cattle and 122 sheep, j The weather was very cold, and this considerably detracted from the yarding, but notwithstanding this, the attendance was good, and with the assistance of some of our Ohura and back country clients, we made a fair clearance at the following prices:—Weaner heifers, poor quality, up to 2fis. Jersey and Holstein heifers from 37s fid to 50s, small Shorthorn steers, poor quality, 21s up to 445, for fairly good stuff, 20months steers 02s to 85s for well grown and good steers. 18-months' empty heifers 63s to 72s 6d, 20-months* heifers in calf 74s to 02s Od for good stuff. 2%year old heifers, nice line made from 137s 6d to 1455; 2y 2 -year steers 87s Cd to 955, store cows, low condition, s!)s to 82s 6d, for good stuff. Fat and forward cows up to 101s, bulls from 60s to 100s. We held or usual monthly wool. !••'•"• and hide sale on Tuesday, Bth inst. w!r the usual attendance of buyers were n>sent, and competition was fairlv bri<though not quite so brisk as at prer*' sales . We offered 42 packages of wool. 247 sheepskins, 8 packages of tallowi-and small quantity of hides and ■calfskins, prices beina I :—Pieces up to fiy.d. Vrutchings 5%d to fid, lambs wool, little spedy and stained B%d to 9d, lambs wool biddy. 0y 3 d to 8%(l other packages sold at full rates.
