TARIKI. (From Our Own Correspondent). The Ministerial visit being over, we are now settling down again to the usual routine of autumn work. A con- j tingent from Tariki attended the .banquet to the Ministers at Stratford, and 1 some also listened to the deputations 'that waited on the Premier and Minister <for Public Works in the afternoon. A meeting of the Horticultural Socit.y Committee was held on the 4th inst., Messrs H. Rumball (hon. see ) G Ackland, A. Thomas. R. Jones, M. Jones' U-ossman and Stephenson were present. Mr. M. Jones was voted to the chair. The secretary submitted a statement of accounts whieh showed a satisfactory credit balance, ami it was decided to pay out prize money at an early date. A question of payment of points' prize money in one section was discussed, and it was decided to adhere to the rules of the Society on (ho po jnt. The secre- ' tary was instructed to invite Mr. G V Tate to judge the Held crops, and, after' 'meats 0 f smoke concei . ts I and dances. a vote was taken which re"ulted m favour of the latter, which will he. held on the 24th inst.
