NEW SOUTH WALES'S POPULATION. Sydney. April 11. The population of New South Wales is now 1.778,976. an increase for the year of 80.226. There is r.lso a record birth-rate of 20.90 per thousand, the highest since 1895. THE NORTH LYELL MINE. - Hobart, April 11. The thousand feet level at the North Lyell mine lias been cleared of water, and the three bodies there will be recovered to-day.
