A SILLY BOYCOTT.
LABOR NEWSPAPER TURNED DOWN By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, April 11. A deputation of citizens, headed by Mr. Ryan, the leader of the Parliamentary Labor Party, complained to the Home Secretary," Mr. Appel, that the Tramway Company was boycotting the Labor paper. Newsboys were chased off, dealers and buyers of the paper were stopped from entering the trams, and passengers reading it Interfered with. Other papers were carried and delivered by the trams. Mr. Appel, on the strength of the Crown Solicitor's opinion, stated that the company was within its right in refusing to carry the Labor paper. He, however, promised that an enqniry should be held. The Labor Party threatens strong measures.
