Application was made by the police to the Magistrate to-day to have a solicitor named Cecil Glass Downes, who appeared on a charge of drunkenness, committed to Rotoroa. He had been there previously for a term. Counsel for accused asked for a chance so that his client could be sent to Australia'for'a fH® start.
