MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TERRITORIAL CASES. Several Territorial eases were heard in the Magistrate's Court yesterday at the instance of Sergeant-Major Bond, who represented the military authorities.
•Alfred Morey was charged with having failed to attend a parade. •" Accused pleaded guilty, but stated in extenuation that he had been transferred to B Company, whereas his notice to attend the parade had been made out as if ho was a member of A Company. The case was adjourned by the Magistrate (Mr. A. Crooke, S.M.j to Thursday to enable accused to produce the notice.
William Prostney pleaded guilty to a similar offence. His explanation was that he had been employed in connecting up a sewer at the time, which was a work which required immediate attention.
Sergt.-Major Bond stated that he should have obtained permission to got off. He had received no excuse for absence from accused, who, however, had been previously fairly regular in his attendance.
A fine of s*''without costs was inflicted. Albert Prestney was similarly charged and pleaded guilty. Ho was fined 5s without costs. BY-LAW CASE.
On (lie information of the Borough Inspector (Mr, B. Tippins), Arthur Gayland was charged with having cycled after sunset without a light. The accused, who made no appearance, was fined os nml costs 7s.
